But Kashyap, who is known for his skills with the youth clubs not only steered the team away from relegation but also surprised everybody when his team finished 9th in the 2011-12 season of the I league.

Kashyap has been associated with numerous teams before as he had coached Mahindra United Under-19 team which won the Super Division title in the Mumbai Football League.

Apart from the Clubs, he has also coached Maharashtra U-19 and sub-junior under-15 teams. He also coached Maharashtra Santosh Trophy team.

On being asked about his strategies with Mohan Bagan, Kashyap said that he is ready to take up the challenge of coaching a high profile team like Bagan and after having prevented a team like Air India form relegation, the target for such a  trophy oriented club would be winning all the cups.

On being asked about the teams, he said, “Mr. Debasish Dutta has consulted with me and I gave few suggestions and accordingly those players have been included in the team.”

Further being questioned on the Mohan Bangan’s inability to win the tournaments in the recent times, Kashyap replied, “This can happen in football. Yesterday you have seen the mighty Germany lost to Italy which was a huge upset. Definitely I will try my best to help McDowell Mohun Bagan win trophies this year.”

In the end, the newly appointed coach of the Mohan Bagan left a message to its fans saying, “Give us support and we will try our best to play good football and also win trophies this year and I hope that this will be a great season for the club.”
